rc1 coming general vista comments

When is RC1 coming? General Vista comments.

I was sent the DVD for 5384, and I was wondering when the next release is due?
A couple early "Joe Six pack" observations, and I guess that's what they had to have wanted from me or they wouldn't have asked me to participate. I'm just an all-day work user, and home hobbyist who goes "under the hood" just enough to be dangerous not to mention to just keep the three networked boxes under my roof running, so one day they talked me into joining the WFP too, and here I am beta testing.
Anyway, Vista, well at least I was smart enough to dual boot it and not upgrade like many unfortunates here did (I'm lucky I crossed paths with Andre early here!) Overall it is perhaps a bit too buggy an experience for something that's given out to "Joe Six packs", but I'm learning to like Explorer a bit more as I think I might be able to drill down faster, not sure. Glass is cool looking but is it needed? Closed circuit to Bill Gates, I'll buy a Mac if I want one some day. Let it go
Gadgets? Well there's been a couple of witty posts regarding the egg timer, and its the only interesting one to me in that I first have no idea how to use it, and secondly why I would use it if I knew how. I can't figure out how to change the default directory for the slide show so I can watch family pictures in it. Do I really have to move all my kids and grand kid's pics to that default directory or what? If so that sucks.
Regarding other MS betas on the loose, I'm quite smitten with at least Excel and Word in Office 2007 (Joe S don't mess with Access). The "ribbon" interface is very intuitive to use IMHO. Outlook isn't much different really. Oh yeah I updated my band's poster in Publisher, and that went pretty well too, so,...its OK as well I guess ;-) That is all for now. Not much help I know, just sounding off a bit.

dammit DJ, you got me thinking!

You are hereby fined $0.25 for asking when another build or milestone will be released. :)
You have good comments but they will not be seen by MS since this is not a managed newsgroup. I suggest you use the Feedback link to send your thoughts. Feedback sent that way can be triaged and routed to the appropriate teams.
